Sometimes I scare Myself...

Do you ever get the feeling that there's a budding genius inside of you, and it's trying to show itself, but it just never can quite get to the surface??????
Well, sometimes I do. Well, this isn't quite genius, it's more like interpretation, or mind reading or something......
Yesterday we were in town, teaching music lessons to some friends of ours. ( Becky and Crystal teach the lessons, I just get to go along and play games with the ones not having lessons ).
( Zoe Z. goes with us too, since she takes guitar lessons from one of our friends. ) Well, on the way home, we were all kind of hungry and started trying to guess what each of our families was going to have for supper. I made a guess at ours, and then Zoe said, " what are we ( as in, her family ) going to have ????? " I said , pizza.... Well, long story short, her mom called us like 2 minutes after that and said, " are you guys almost home?? " we said , " yeah, why?? " She said, " Oh, well the pizza's almost ready and we're going to eat soon... "
That is why, Sometimes I scare Myself.
This has been story time with Rachel.
( Yes it's true !!!! ) Do you doubt my intelligence????

Is this Humanly Possible????

Okay.
As most of you know, My dad got stung/bit/sliced ( whatever Stingray's do to you ) while they were on vacation, and were all enjoying the ocean.
He's okay now, and though it was poisonous, it didn't travel from where it got him on the foot. After some soaking it, he was fine.
Well......
My Bright Father, went searching for the one that got him.
So today, as the 3 guys were enjoying the water, ( Wolfgang and Mourey checked it out and went in first I might add ) My Mom said she heard screams and howling coming from the water.
Apparently, my dad got stung 2wice!!! I'm not sure if that's possible!!
You tell me???
He is okay, but this one was more painful, and I think it was even on the same foot that got it the last time.
( Lauren says she thinks that they need to teach my dad the SuperBowl Shuffle so that he can do that and scare all the predator oceanlife away before he goes in.
:)
I just thought all you in bloggerland might want to know.

Bowling!!!

Now, for those of you who like to Be chronological in your blogging, I apologize. Crystal is really good at that, but I guess I'm more like a favorite event blogger.

That said, Sunday was dollar bowling day at the bowling alley in Rock Falls. *( i don't know the name of it )* Drena heard about it, and we decided to go, and then the Ziglers decided to join us too! When we first got there, it was PACKED in there, and they said it'd be like a 2 hour wait... The Ziglers hadn't got there yet so we waited a few minutes for them and decided to hold high council to see whether we'd wait, or leave.....

Of course we decided to stay ! :)
While we waited we checked out the arcade. There was a cool motorcycle game that Reid and some of the Ziglers played ( it looked a bit out of my range of ability.

This is where I was abducted by aliens, and taken to their UFO, and thoroughly interrogated, but, upon being found a little to strange, ( even for aliens ) I was safely returned to the arcade, and Zoe and I decided to play air hockey. ( she beat me 7-4 )

Hiram and Joy, the Awesomely Adorable future hunters. :)
Hiram would say Bam! and then someone would ask him if he ' got it ' and he'd say, yeah! It was so cute.

Finally, ( after only about 1 hour ) 2 lanes opened up, and we got to Bowl!
They had this really cool little slide thingy for little kids who couldn't throw the ball. You'd put it on top, and push it, and it would roll down the slide and usually all the way down to the pins! Joy was beating me for the first half of one of the games.
Now, there weren't to many good shots of the game, but we had a GREAT time.
( although all of us under the age of 27 didn't even break 100 ) ( sheepish laughter insert here )
Mr. Zigler had the good score of the Night of I think 198.

After Bowling we went to Pernie's Pizza. It was REally Good.

We did a progressive prayer for our meal.
For those of you who aren't enlightened, a progressive prayer goes like this.
1st person, Dear... 2nd Person, Father... 3 thank, 4 you, 5 for , 6 this, 7 wonderful, 8 glorious, 9 marvelous, 10 Pizza, 11 ????? what do I say???.... ( whispers here.... " just say Amen " ) AMEN!
We also did a progressive coloring page while waiting for our Pizza. ( the people were really nice and handed out coloring books to anyone who wanted one )
This was the finished product !! :)
It was a awesome day.

:)

Wednesday - Friday, when it was SO cold,
IN our house, all the windows were coated with ice
and all the doors had ice/snow (the frosty
stuff that's in freezers) all around the outside.
One morning we had to use the hair dryer in order
to unfreeze the door so that Taffie could get outside!
Whenever I let Taffie out, she always would
come in barely able to walk because her little
feet would hurt from being so cold :(
(I only let her out when it was absolutely necessary,
and would bring her in as SOON as she was done.
All the weather channels, and even news reports,
were giving people advice on how to keep warm.
There was even an earring advisory!
You weren't supposed to wear earrings
because they would/could get so cold that they
would damage your ears!
I went out on those days...
I bundled up so that the only thing not covered
was my eyes!
But have no fear!
Today it is a balmy 17 degrees outside!
Yay!

HEAT WAVE!

ILLINOIS IS HAVING A HEAT WAVE!
Right now it is +6 out!!!

Last night, with the wind chill, it was -57!
That's a 63 degree difference! In one day!

So lets break out the t-shirts people!
Go have a picnic!

When it was -57, our house was 122 degrees warmer that outdoors!
Sounds like we had it as hot as a sauna, (but its really only 65 in here).

We tried the whole 'Throw water hot water in the air and see
if it freezes before it hits the ground'... It didn't work.
I froze as SOON as it hit the ground, but in the air it was still water. :(
But hey, we had fun! That's really all that mattered!

Thursday night... Part 2

Okay, this is another long post.
Also, if you did not read Part 1, you should read it first.
In History, the Lee's were studying the Egyptians.
So we had an Egyptian themed supper.
Here we all are washing up to eat.
Here's our dinner!
Fish eggs (pasta), Green beans, Fish, Meatballs (for those not daring
enough to eat the fish) *which was just about everybody*
And bugs (dates) in apples!

What I didn't know was that it was non-utensil night...

Thankfully we did have serving utensils, but we did eat with our hands.

I don't know, maybe they ate hair back then, but I didn't want to!
I'm so thankful I found a hair tie!
There were bowls of water to clean your hands in
. (So that we didn't mix food flavors too much)
That was a good thing for some people ;)

Isaac had a blast!

Rachel, doing finger-chopsticks!
For dessert we had pudding!
We came up with the perfect way to eat it!
Just turn it into a contest and see who could finish first by
slurping it (and no hands)

It was extremely fun, but I'm afraid I wasn't very good.
I think Isaac had more on his face than he actually got eaten!
Gabrielle.
Faster, faster!

Rachel.
Christian.
And of course with the leftovers we had to have a pudding fight!
It was SO fun!
We all got really dirty, and the majority of us had
chocolate hair gel. :-P
Ahhh! I can't believe we did this!
It felt really interesting.
It reminded me of the face mudpack things.
(especially when it started to dry)
Wow! We even got Criky dirty and she wasn't mad at us!
(She was the instigator of the pudding war I think)
Rachel though it was an awesome, wondrous thing!
As soon as it was over we all got right to a sink to wash up.
It was kind of sick...
But I'd do it again, because the funness FAR outweighed
the grossness!
Let you hearts be JOYFUL this weekend!
And thank you so much Lee's for opening up your house to us!
I (we) had a wonderful time!

Thursday Night... Part 1

So... Yesterday we went to our friends the Lee's!
(I'm using white because it reminds me of ice and
its sooo cold here that's the only thing I can think of right now.)
Anyway, we had an awesome time!
There are a lot of pictures in this post, so be
forewarned, IT IS VERY LONG!
Among the many other things we did,
Isaac taught me how to play his game called JUMP
You stack cards (either same color or number) on end
and see who can get to the end of the table first.
He beat me the first few games (even with Dawn and Jordan
coaching me through the entire thing)
Nerf guns!
The Nerf gun had Velcro on its tip, so it would
stick to cloth, it was pretty neat!
And of course EVERYONE had to have their
turns hitting my FAVORITE (twitching eyelid) bell...
Lots and LOTS of times!

Summit has grown SO much since I last saw her! She is so pretty too!

Imaginif!

HMmm. The computer deleted 3 pictures... oh well I'm sure there are still plenty!

~Rach and Gab didn't want their pictures taken~

Here we are making bubble solution.
Supposedly, if you blew them outside, they would freeze
and then if you touched them they would shatter like glass.
We couldn't find the bubble wands, so we used kitchen
utensils instead!
(I am convinced that mothers are genius' and can
think of everything!)
The apple slicer made really big bubbles!
Here we are, I hope we stay warm!
Rachel. Baffled by the bubble.
It turned into a plastic-like texture and would dissolve when touched.
We all froze trying to blow the bubbles,
but it was really intriguing.
I learned that strainy spoon/spatula's work great
for blowing bubbles.
After going in, Isaac and Adrian weren't done with the bubbles.

They were really liking the opportunity to blow
bubbles over at the sink.
(and I think play in the water too) ;)
Some fun with the black hats!
Dawn discovered that she was a quick draw with
her "double tickle guns"!
Something about little kids and sunglasses.
Adorable!
Peace out!
Ooh look! Rachel's a jungle gym!
We did a drawing game.
(in which I realized that I am extremely uncreative
and very artistically challenged)
And of course a group picture.
Aaawww...
There! That's more like it!
