Last Castle Post (I think)

Well, sadly, I think this is going to be the last Castle post.
Here are a bunch of random pictures from Saturday afternoon!
Here we are playing a True/False game.
When a question was read, you had to run to the chair
that was labeled either True, or False.
The person to get there first (and have the right
answer) won, and their team got a point!
Mom was my groups scorekeeper!
The guys would run/shove each other while running...
It was scary as they would run past you
(everyone watch your feet)!

And here is the group Rach was in.
Criky didn't play because she "needed" to take pictures.
Here, since we got here at the same time we'll just share!
OOHh Hoo HOO!
Dessert!!!
In the later afternoon we did some impromptu skits.
Each team was given 6 items and had to use them all in
a skit (and you only had 10 minutes to prepare)!
Of course everyone had to get their camera's out!
I'm not really sure what to say about this one, so
just make up your own caption!
This was the skit I was in.
In it, a little old lady (played by a guy named Larry)
was a villain trying to take over the world by making everyone
sneeze themselves senseless.
(She alone held the potion)
Well, after the old lady's gang sprinkled pepper and tickled our
noses with a feather, we sneezed ourselves unconscious!
Have no fear though! Faith was our Hero and took the
Old Lady's potion and gave it to us!
And here's another skit.
(I can't remember what this one was about)
And then here's the one Criky was in!
I took tons of pictures, but am only putting up 2.
This skit was about a queen who's king dies.
Well, they used to play chess together so she has him buried
with the chess set, but keeps just one piece to remember him by.
A 3headed monster comes and steals it, and she sends 2
of her servants to retrieve it (one is deaf, and the other is mute)
They get the piece back through a battle of unique facts,
and win a "year long lifetime supply of jelly beans" which they
give to the 3 headed monster because its so sad from losing
the chess piece. And they all live happily ever after!
Theirs was definitely the most involved skit!
In the skit that Rach and Dad were in, Rachel played a
blind cup bearer and Dad was a sculptor!
Rachel spilled the king's drink on him so he threw her in
the dungeon.
And Dad had to make a statue of the king...
Well, he made an unsatisfactory one so the king made him
the cup bearer and banished Rachel!
And last, before we scurried around helping people
pack up and get out before 4 o'clock (when we had to
be off the castle grounds) we played human backgammon!
I had never played before, and neither had the people on
either side of me, so we just had a great time talking!
Well, here we are at the end of Castle post 6.
And well, I guess the best way to sum it up was that
" A good time was had by all"
Thanks Hemmers for inviting us!

Wild Guess?

Anyone care to make a wild guess at
what I just might be thinking about? =)

Kids, DON'T try this at Home.

HEY ALL!!!
A few weeks ago, a very good friend of ours showed us how to do homemade bombs!
So, taking advantage of the wonderful spring afternoon, we decided to try them out.
Our parents were a bit nervous, ( I have no Idea why :)
I will leave the ingredients *( is that what bomb makings are called )*? anonymous.... Just in case...
I wouldn't want anyone to blow fingers off, or eye's out.....
We did 3 bombs... Only one worked though... ( I proudly say that the one I did was the only one to work )
We set off the thingy under our tree out front.
It *(after many minutes of waiting, and wondering if this one was a dud as well )* FLEW up into the tree, and ExPLOded!! It was really fun!
( and mom only screamed once! )

Kid's don't try this at Home....
-rach.

in complaint of the cold...

Hey All! I'm don't know about you, but I am NOT enjoying the coldness very much. The Warm was so nice and ... warmy.....
So, in protest of the coldness here's a few Warmness pictures.
( from last Saturday when it was Sunny and 64 )
In this picture. Don't get the wrong Idea. No, we have not gone insane, we were trying to balance on our shoulders without using our hands. ( the reason that I'm not doing it is because we had just got through doing cartwheels, and I was a little to sore to be trying that )

After we got though embarrassing the neighbors with our experimental-first of Spring- exercise stuff, we went on to Long Jump!!!!
Some ( like Reid and Crystal ) had us all beat by far. But we all had fun trying...

After Round One, of jumping, we decided it would be more fun to run, jump, than fall on the ground and roll a ways, than stop and let everyone else smash into you!!
what can I say. We're kids and pain+danger= fun!
Becky bailed when we decided to do that, so that's where the pictures came from! :)

Happy Cold Saturday Everyone.
Rach.

Psalm 19:1-4a

The heavens tell of the glory of God.The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him know.
They speak without a sound or a word;
their voices silent in the skies;
yet their message has gone out to all the earth
and their words to all the world.

Interesting Revelations with Tori...

Okay, so since Tuesday we've had this 5 yr. old named Tori
staying with us... And well, kids are just kids I guess.
And like the title of this post says, we have had some
INTERESTING revelations!

1. It is possible to ask the same thing about 6 million
times in one day.
2. It is possible to find something to dislike about EVERYTHING that
Becky makes for supper... (my eyelid is twitching as I write that)
3. (and now interesting translates into ' try not to visibly laugh at)
A vegetarian is someone who fixes up animals when they get hurt.
And there are plenty more. But by far, the most interesting is when
she "reads" the Bible during our family devotions...

Tonight we were reading from Mark 8, (Jesus feeding the 4,000
and healing a blind man, and more) Well, every time it was "her"
turn to read we'd wait for her to "find the right verse",
"read it in her head so that she got it right" and then try not to laugh
at whatever she came up with!
The first 3 times what she came up with was about the loaves
and fish, and the disciples handing them out. But on her last turn,
it went something like this...
"Uh, the disciples took Jesus and put him on the cross.
They pounded nails into him all over,
in his hands, in his head and in one leg" (just one mind you)

It was really hard to recover after that one! I coughed, sniffed,
coughed some more, put my hand over my eyes, bit my lip,
and then finally stumbled through my verses.

Yes people, when I said interesting revelations I meant it!

Castle - Part 5

Here are some (disorganized) pictures of Saturday
at the Castle!

Here we are at the little church service.
The room seated like 20 people, but
we packed (PACKED) about 50 in there!!!
Mr. H read the Bible and Jason sang a couple of songs.
Ah, picture taking next to the stained glass window.
And Criky too.
We played Boccie "bag". Really hard balls wouldn't have
worked because of the wood floors (and all the neat
breakable stuff too)
It was really fun because we got to play wherever we wanted
to in the entire Castle!
Up staircases, down staircases, in hallways, ect...
Every once in a while we'd see Faith coming around with her
camera getting some picture documentation!
And Marge making sandwiches!
(they were delicious)
And you know, you can't go to a cool looking building
without getting cool looking outdoor pictures!
It is nice to have a photographer in our family...
Oh, and the suit of armor...
Man, it would have been awesome if Rach
could have worn one of these!
