Hmmmm...
I was reading an article in Christianity Today, and one paragraph stood out to me. I also thought it loosely tied it with my last post. It says,
" when Jesus commanded us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, and care for the widow and orphan, he meant it. He meant it when he said we should love our neighbor, but he didn't mean that we love them according to secularist liberal values or the dictates of the state. We should love them as Christ loves them."
Quite literally, it looks like we've got our work cut out for us!

Devotion time...
Lately I've been reading Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost for His Highest", it's a daily devotion book and most days it has been meeting me right where I need to be met. Today I want to share an excerpt on here because no only was it a semi-painful reminder to me, but it was also a concept I had, quite honestly, been overlooking. I hope to work hard and do better now though!
The excerpt is this, "Jesus says - Judge not, that he may. not be judged. If you do judge, it will be measured to you exactly as you have judged. Who of us would dare to stand before God and say, My God, judge me as I have judged my fellow men?"
And that's where it hit me. I've been working with a LOT of people for the last couple of months. Diverse groups, and having a wonderful time. But, I know whether I intend to or not, I have judged some of them. And I realize right now, that thats not my job! And it's actually wrong of me!
I definitely wouldn't be in too good of shape if I had to stand before God right now and tell him to treat me and judge me with some of the measures I have used lately.
I'm so thankful for the unending marvelous standard of atonement and forgiveness that I am judged by, Lord, help me to carry those graces with me. Keep them in the forefront of my mind!
And there you have it!
