Spring Has Sprung! (Finally)

Sunday afternoon, the weather was just so beautiful

that we had to be outside!

It felt absolutely glorious!

So we took a walk to the "pine forest"!

It felt so wonderful to be in T-shirts!

And OH the fresh air!
Reid, Rach, and I (and even sometimes Criky) were
so excited about the good weather that we were practically
running everywhere and doing the whole "look, under these leaves!
There's green grass!" "lets see if we can lift this" ...
And of course, climbing trees!

Rach.Reid and I found some ice...

We had to walk really carefully so that it wouldn't break.

Because of the warm weather it was really thin.

It was so cool too, we went from the brown oak trees,

to the green, alive looking pine trees!

There is something awe inspiring about the tall pines.

They seem to point right to our Creator!

We found this feather...

And a cute little pine cone.

And a cool tree to sit on so we got a group picture!

Here is probably one of the nicest ones

we have ever gotten of Rach and Reid together.

It has rained so much lately that there was water

buildup all over. There were little frogs, and snails

living in this puddle.

We didn't catch any of the frogs, but we picked up quite a few snails!

This on had a really neat striped design on its shell.

And we found an owl... I guess you call it a pellet.

(its one of those things they barf up after eating)

It had the bones, some fur, and was held together by

what LOOKED like dryer lint...

We picked through it and found a jawbone!!!

(mice have teeny tiny teeth)

Here's Marge's "treasures" of the day.

3 hawk feathers, and some skunk fur!

And last but certainly not least, here is a picture of "The Lake".

A few years ago it was completely dried up, but with all the rain

it was full again! (there was even a beaver house? (or dam?)

(whatever they live in) in the middle of the lake!
