horseback riding and such...

Yesterday ( thursday ) we went Horseback Riding.. ( Crystal's idea ). We went to a place called Jester Park Trail Riding Facilities.

( Becky and I being minors, had to sign our lives away under parental consent .. just in case.. )

Also being minors ( under 18 ) we had to wear helmets.. Not so bad. Not that those horses would try anything, but I'd rather be alive than dead.....

the one closest is Prince, the one beside him is Kid, and the one by Kid, is Heidi.

Mom made sure to tell them she was nervous, and they proceeded to give her the slowest horse that they give all the kids... and wouldn't you know mom was near the front so her horse held everyone up. Well, in one such time, mom's horse stopped to eat leaves off a tree. Well, Dad got impatient waiting for mom to get her horse going, so he was right by mom, he reached up and slapped the horse on the rump... the horse went, mom freaked... ( Both Mom and Dad are still alive, and mom stayed on the horse ( who bolted into a full fledged walk !!! )

When dad 'mounted up' he kept saying he wanted to do it like John Wayne... Well, he couldn't quite reach the stirrups when he got on the horse so he ended up looking like he was sitting on a rodeo horse hanging on for dear life.

Our ride was an hour long and there was some really pretty scenery, but the picture's of it didn't turn out very well, so you don't get them.....

After horseback riding we drove an hour to a Danish community, where they actually have a real windmill from Denmark. they still use it sometimes to make flour.

Next to the windmill there was the Danish Inn, and Danish restraunt.

It had a very nice buffett, ( and personally my favorite was there homeade fried chicken, and chicken noodle soup ( homeade that morning )
the restraunt had a bench that they painted to look like the Danish flag :) that was kinda cool.


da da DAAA!!! The windmill!!! it was built in Denmark in 1848, and transported hear in the 1950's. The crew who put it together was just a group of voulenteers from the town! and all they had to put it together from was a small scale model that had been built as a demonstration for them, and little tags nailed to each peice with a number on it.

Some of the peices were over 2 tons heavy!!

We got to go up in and windmill and look around, and after that we went to the little museum/ mostly gift shop adjoining it.

VIking Hats!!!!! and silly twins...

They had animal horns you could buy, but we didn't 'bcause they were like 40$ a peice...

We had a great time!!!

Than we came home and went on an hour pontoon ride to see the houses on the lake.... 'thrilling'

Mom and Dad really enjoyed it.

Than we went swimming. Much to my enjoyment. We were the only ones there so we had the whole pool to ourselves. Came home, got in the little hot tub, and lazed around reading a book the rest of the night.... AAAhhhh. Vacation..
