Half A Day In The Life Of Me...

Two weeks ago on Sunday (the day after the cold, rainy football game)

We had quite a busy day! Not only was Mom gone, but we had 3

church services to go to!!! So I got up super early, made our potluck dish,

got myself ready to go, and was at the Harmon Methodist church service by 8:30.
SO thankful for the coffee!

After the Harmon service we went to the Refuge.
About a year or so ago I was drafted to run the projector so that's what I was doing :P

After our service and lunch we went for our 1 a month service
at the Amboy Nursing Home.
It ended up being quite the experience...
We had a yodeler, a singer, and a very chatty person in the audience :)
But my favorite resident was there and invited me to sit by her (so I did),
and Drena sat next to the yodeler... It was awesome!

And then we were on our way home!

I drove...

So that was the first half of my day.

3 church services in 7 hours...

Cold, Rainy Fall Day with People We Love

A few weekends ago on a really cold and rainy Saturday, Crystal,

Rachel, and I went to Sterling to Cameron's football game.

It was one of those "un-ideal" days where it's gross outside,

and Amboy played pretty awful... So we all stood (because everything

else was wet) on the sidelines with our hot drinks and cheered anyway!

Heh, and of course we were freezing because we didn't expect the rain

and weren't quite dressed for the weather...

So we did a little dancing...
And a little jumping...

And took pictures :P

And were ready to go home at halftime...

But regardless of that, we had a great time!

I love watching Cam and it makes me smile just being around him.

Plus, what's better than getting to spend some time on a Saturday

with your brother and his fam??
And those little kids are so cute in their football gear :D

Great job Cam!

Crystal wanted proof that she actually made it to one of Cam's games...

Ah, life is so hard when you're 4...

Good game...

:( But Amboy lost awfully...

But like the title says, we got to spend the cold, rainy fall day

with people that we love. So it was well worth it!

Goin' To A Parade!!

Last week Cameron got to be in Amboy's Homecoming Parade!

It was a last minute thing so Josh called us the night before and

let us know we should come and see Cam ride on the 5th grade

football float ;) So it was Josh, Dad, Jenna, Randon, and I doing

our proud waving/picture snapping from the curb.

Oh, and making sure we collected candy for Randon! :)

Sigh, I've got a seriously cool nephew...

"Sisterly" Duties... :)

Sigh... Somehow it always seems to happen like this!

Rach and I make it a point to try and follow Reid's sports schedule so

that we can make it to his home games. Well we may follow the schedule

but we pretty much always only make it to one game... :/

So, staying true to habit we made it to our one and only game of

the whole season a few weeks ago.

Fulfilling my "sisterly" duties I brought the camera.

And proceeded to take LOTS of pictures :) But, Reid doesn't like

his picture taken, and even more than that he doesn't like finding that

his picture has shown up on my blog so I'm just going to show a few

that are from farther back and you can't see him too well. ;)

Yes, yes, call me lazy but I much preferred to just sit and watch! No endless field running for me! One more time... GO FALCONS!! :D

Happy October!

Time goes so fast.
It just does.
I don't think there's anything we can do to slow it down either!
Just last week it was September, but now we have entered a
whole new month!! It's crazy how stuff just seems to happen
and then before I know it the day is over and then the next one
has begun, and then it's the weekend, and the next week, and then
the next week and...

I'm going to quite miss the warm weather. I got a rude awakening
this weekend with the cold weather... I'm quite ready to just hibernate
and not come out of my bed until next spring... But since that can't
happen I guess I'll just pull out my fall/winter clothes and charge headfirst
into this October! (hahahahaha!!! BRING IT ON!!!) :D

Anyway, I was just going to wish all you fellow bloggy people (and I
say that lovingly!) a most happy October!
So, HAPPY OCTOBER ALL!!!

Labor Day Happenings.

This year we had kind of a quiet Labor Day, but quiet does

not mean any less fun or special!

We started our day out just us 5, and then had

family (and adopted little bro Steve) over to eat lunch with us!

And instead of just our normal "grill out hamburgers and brats" we

decided to do something different and try tacos :D

That was a great decision! They were wonderful!

After lunch (and 1st dessert) most of us ended up

outside playing bags.

Rach and I were the overall winners! We beat every other team

that we played!

And then while out ambling back from a walk we

noticed the poor, forlorn, Dano's Sno-Shack sitting alone

so we couldn't resist the opportunity to go by and take

some "we're sad" pictures!

Yeah, it was fun!

But, what's better than when hilarity rules an afternoon and you can just laugh and laugh?! I certainly don't thing there is much...

Pancake Breakfast.





GAAAA!!!!! In case you haven't noticed, I've switched around some things on the blog here... We've got a new template (which I can't get off) (the template is the grayish thing that this post appears on) And just for something different I've rearranged the layout on here... Well, neither one of those things is "bad" but they're both new so I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get this post to look as normal as possible. AND blogger's now got a new way of editing posts... But the AWESOME thing (and I do mean AWESOME!!) is that I finally figured out how to upload my own pictures for a background! So you get the pleasure of seeing our smiling faces (right after we landed from skydiving) every time you get on here for the next near future!

Anyway, here are some pictures from the pancake breakfast that the Refuge hosted at Mendota Hills on Labor Day Sunday!
We started off the morning pretty early, so I came equipped with my coffee...

And here's Marge (ever so strongly) dismantling the Bisquick boxes *dismantling is much more fun to say than folding...* to get them ready to recycle.

There were too many of us using the electric griddles from the same outlet so we kept blowing fuses. Brent decided to go create his pancakes by the front door to put his griddle on a separate outlet. ("creating" pancakes sounds much cooler than flipping...)

:D Jamie showed up just in time to make some more pancake mix for us!

And it was quite fun having him in the kitchen to tease! :D

There was a short lull in pancake eaters for about 15 minutes so started making specially designed pancakes! :D

I made a special frog pancake for Sue because she likes frogs so much!

I was making SuperMan pancakes, but thought to myself,

"pssh who wants a SuperMan pancake when they could have

a SUPERBEEKO one instead!!!"
